Brake fluid collected
Every brake fluid change, brake bleed and brake repair leaves old fluid behind. Most brake fluid is glycol-based, absorbs water over time and is harmful if it gets into drains or the ground. Used brake fluid is hazardous waste, so it can’t go down a drain or into general waste.
BL Oils is a Doncaster-based, Environment Agency upper-tier waste carrier and dealer (CBDU69834). We collect across all of Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire, often on the same visit as your waste oil collection.
What we collect
- Used brake fluid from cars, vans, motorbikes, HGVs and buses
- Clutch fluid drained from hydraulic clutch systems
- Old or unwanted brake fluid in its original containers
- Brake cleaner and contaminated fluid from brake work (tell us when you book)
Who we collect from: garages, dealerships, tyre and brake centres, fleet and bus workshops, plant hire yards and car breakers.
We don’t collect cooking oil. For used cooking oil from kitchens and takeaways, please use a specialist cooking oil collector.

What it is, roughly how much, how it’s stored and your postcode.
Free quote & booking
We give you a free, no-obligation quote and agree a collection that suits you.
Collected with paperwork
We collect it and leave you a hazardous waste consignment note.

Keep brake fluid separate
Don’t pour brake fluid into your waste oil tank. It mixes with water and spoils the oil. Keep a separate, sealed and labelled container for brake fluid, with the lid on, away from drains. We collect it on the same visit as your oil, filters, antifreeze and oily rags.
Paperwork
Used brake fluid is hazardous waste, so every collection comes with a hazardous waste consignment note and your duty of care is covered. Our registration, CBDU69834, can be checked on the Environment Agency’s public register. See consignment notes explained.
Phone answered 24/7. Call or WhatsApp 07785 921493 any time, including evenings and weekends. Leak or spill? See our emergency call-out.
Related: garage waste collection, antifreeze disposal and oil filter disposal.
Frequently asked questions
Is brake fluid hazardous waste?
Yes. Used brake fluid is classed as hazardous waste, so it needs a licensed carrier and a consignment note.
Can I put brake fluid in my waste oil tank?
No. Keep it in its own sealed, labelled container. Mixing it with oil makes both harder to deal with.
Can you collect brake fluid with my waste oil?
Yes. We collect brake fluid on the same visit as your waste oil, filters, antifreeze and oily rags.
How much does brake fluid disposal cost?
Every job is different, so we give you a free, no-obligation quote. Tell us what you have, roughly how much, how it’s stored and your postcode.
