Waste oil collection for plant hire and construction
Excavators, dumpers, telehandlers, rollers, generators and compressors all need regular servicing, and that leaves plant hire companies, groundworks contractors and construction firms with plenty of used oil. BL Oils collects it from depots, workshops and yards across all of Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire.
We’re a Doncaster-based, Environment Agency upper-tier waste carrier and dealer (CBDU69834). You get a free quote, a collection booked around your work, and the correct paperwork every time.
What we collect from plant and construction firms
- Engine oil from plant, site vehicles and generators
- Hydraulic oil from excavators, telehandlers, cranes and attachments (crane firms, see crane hire waste oil collection; forklift firms, see forklift hire and servicing; hydraulic engineers, see hydraulic oil disposal)
- Gearbox, transmission and axle oils
- Compressor oil
- Used oil filters from servicing (oil filter disposal)
- Contaminated diesel and red diesel from site and plant tanks (contaminated fuel collection)
- Interceptor waste from depot yards and wash-down areas (interceptor waste)
We collect from drums, IBCs and waste oil tanks. For the full list, see waste oil collection, or waste oil removal for one-off clear-outs.

Collected with paperwork
We collect the oil and leave you the correct paperwork for your records.

Depots, yards and workshops
Most plant firms service machines at a depot or workshop, so that’s usually where we collect. Tell us about access for a tanker, where the oil is stored and any site rules, and we’ll plan the visit to suit you.
Good storage on site
- Keep waste oil in sealed drums or a bunded tank, on a drip tray if possible
- Keep it away from drains, ditches and watercourses
- Don’t mix oil with water, coolant, fuel or solvents
- Drain used filters and keep them in a lidded container
Waste oil is hazardous waste. Your duty of care means it must go to someone authorised to take it, and you should keep your paperwork.
