Machine tools use neat cutting oil or a water-mix soluble coolant to cool and lubricate the cut. Over time it gets dirty, goes off and has to be changed. Spent cutting fluids are hazardous waste, so they need collecting by a licensed carrier.

We don’t collect cooking oil. For used cooking oil from kitchens and takeaways, please use a specialist cooking oil collector.

Keep neat oil and soluble coolant apart
Neat cutting oil and water-mix coolant are handled differently, so keep them in separate, labelled containers. Don’t add solvents, degreasers or other chemicals. If you’ve got a lot of machines to drain at once, tell us roughly how much and when, and we’ll plan the collection around it.
Our tanker or your drums
We can pump coolant from a bulk tank or IBCs, and collect drums on the same visit as your other waste oil, filters and oily rags.
Paperwork
Spent cutting fluid is hazardous waste, so every collection comes with a hazardous waste consignment note and your duty of care is covered. Our registration, CBDU69834, can be checked on the Environment Agency’s public register. See consignment notes explained.
