Hydraulic oil disposal for hydraulic companies
If you repair, build or service hydraulic systems, used hydraulic oil is part of the job. Pumps, cylinders, power packs and hoses are drained before they’re stripped, systems are flushed, and tanks are emptied for oil changes. That oil, along with the filters and oily rags, is hazardous waste and has to be collected by a licensed carrier.
BL Oils is a Doncaster-based, Environment Agency upper-tier waste carrier and dealer (CBDU69834). We collect waste hydraulic oil from hydraulic engineers, repair workshops, hose and fittings firms, cylinder repairers and power pack builders across all of Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire.
Who we collect from
- Hydraulic engineers and maintenance contractors
- Hydraulic repair workshops: pumps, motors, valves and cylinders
- Hose and fittings firms, including mobile hose replacement services
- Power pack and system builders and test benches
- Factories and plant with hydraulic presses and machinery
What we collect
- Used hydraulic oil and fluid from drained components, tanks and system flushes
- Gearbox and lubricating oils from drives and gearboxes
- Used hydraulic and oil filters (oil filter disposal)
- Oily rags, wipes and absorbent pads
- Coolant from machines and test rigs
- Oily water and interceptor waste from wash bays and yard drainage (interceptor waste)
Filters, rags and coolant can all go on the same visit as your oil, just like at a garage. See garage waste collection.
We don’t collect cooking oil. For used cooking oil from kitchens and takeaways, please use a specialist cooking oil collector.

Oil types, roughly how many litres, how it’s stored, and your postcode.
Free quote & booking
We give you a free, no-obligation quote and agree a collection that suits your workshop.
Collected with paperwork
We collect the oil, filters, rags and coolant and leave you a hazardous waste consignment note.

Workshop collections
Most hydraulic firms collect drained oil in drums, IBCs or a bulk tank in the workshop. Our tanker can pump out a bulk tank, and we take drums, IBCs, filter bins and rag bins on the same visit. Book a regular collection so your store never gets too full, or call us for a one-off.
System flushes and big oil changes
Flushing or changing the oil in a large press, machine or power pack can produce a lot of oil in one go. Tell us roughly how much to expect and when, and we’ll plan the collection around the job.
Keep it clean, keep it separate
- Keep hydraulic oil in a bunded tank or sealed, labelled drums or IBCs
- Don’t mix oil with solvents, fuel, parts-washer fluid or other chemicals
- Keep coolant and oily water in their own containers
- Drain filters and keep them in a lidded container
- Keep oily rags in a lidded metal bin
