Waste oil collection for dealerships and the motor trade

Scheduled, licensed waste oil collection for car, van, truck, bus, motorcycle and machinery dealers and their workshops across all of Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire.

Waste oil collection for the motor trade

Every dealership with a workshop produces waste oil. Services, repairs, pre-delivery inspections and warranty work all leave drained oil, used filters and oily water from the wash bay, and all of it has to be collected by a licensed carrier with the right paperwork. For the full list of oils we take, see our waste oil collection service.

BL Oils is a Doncaster-based, Environment Agency upper-tier waste carrier and dealer (CBDU69834). We collect waste oil from dealerships and motor trade workshops across all of Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire, on a schedule that fits your workshop.

What dealerships typically produce

  • Engine oil from services and oil changes
  • Gearbox and transmission oil from repairs and fluid changes
  • Hydraulic oil from vehicle lifts, tail lifts, plant and machinery
  • Used oil filters, which still hold oil and count as hazardous waste (oil filter disposal)
  • Antifreeze, brake fluid and oily rags from the workshop (garage waste collection)
  • Interceptor waste from wash bays, valeting areas and forecourts (interceptor waste)

We don’t collect cooking oil. For used cooking oil from kitchens and takeaways, please use a specialist cooking oil collector.

  1. Tell us about your sites

Your workshop type, roughly how much oil you produce, how it’s stored, any wash bay interceptors, and your postcodes.

  2. Free quote and schedule

We give you a free, no-obligation quote and agree a collection schedule that suits each site.

  3. Collected with paperwork

We collect the oil, filters and interceptor waste and leave the correct paperwork for your records.

Car dealerships, franchise and independent

Franchised and independent car dealers run service workshops, PDI bays and valeting areas. Service departments produce steady volumes of engine oil and filters, and PDI and used-car preparation add more. Most sites also have a wash bay that drains through an oil interceptor. For independent garages and MOT centres, see garage waste oil collection.

Van and LCV dealers

Van and light commercial dealers often service business fleets on tight schedules, so oil and filters build up quickly. We can collect from the workshop and empty wash bay interceptors on the same visit.

Truck and HGV dealers and commercial vehicle workshops

Trucks and HGVs hold far more oil than cars, so commercial vehicle workshops produce larger volumes of engine, gearbox and hydraulic oil. We collect from bulk tanks, IBCs and drums, as well as large filters.

Bus and coach depots

Bus and coach depots service their vehicles regularly, and many have their own fuelling and wash facilities. We collect engine and transmission oil, filters and interceptor waste, working around your depot’s operating hours.

Motorcycle dealers

Motorcycle dealers usually produce smaller amounts, often a few drums of engine and fork oil plus filters. That’s fine: tell us what you have and we’ll quote for it.

Dismantling or breaking vehicles too? See car breakers and ATF waste oil collection.

Agricultural and plant machinery dealers

Tractor, combine and plant dealers handle machines with large hydraulic systems, so hydraulic oil makes up much of their waste. See farm waste oil collection and plant hire waste oil collection.

Scheduled collections

Most dealerships prefer a regular schedule, so tanks don’t fill up between visits. We’ll agree a frequency based on how much oil each site produces, and you can call us for an extra collection when you need one.

Paperwork for manufacturer and franchise audits

Manufacturer and franchise standards often include environmental checks. Every collection comes with a hazardous waste consignment note, and you can check our licence, CBDU69834, on the Environment Agency public register. Keep the notes on file, and you’ll have a clear record for audits. See compliance & licence.

Multi-site dealer groups

If your group has several sites across Yorkshire and the East Midlands, we can quote for all of them together and plan collections site by site, with paperwork for each location.
