The short answer
A waste oil collection takes five steps: get in touch, tell us what you have, get a free quote and book a day, we collect, and you get your paperwork. You don’t need to know waste codes or fill in forms in advance. We’ll guide you through it.
Step 1: Get in touch
Call or WhatsApp 07785 921493, email info@bloils.co.uk, or use our quote form. The form asks for the oil type, so have a rough idea of what you’ve got. If you’re not sure, pick the closest option and tell us more in the message.
Step 2: Tell us what you have
To give you an accurate quote, we need to know:
- What it is: engine oil, hydraulic oil, gearbox oil, interceptor waste and so on. Mention anything else you’d like collected on the same visit, such as oil filters, antifreeze, brake fluid or oily rags.
- How much: the number and size of drums or IBCs, or the tank size and how full it is. Our volume calculator can help you add it up.
- How it’s stored: tank, drums, IBCs or interceptor, and whether it’s indoors or outside.
- Where: your postcode, plus anything about access, such as height barriers, gates or opening hours.
A photo on WhatsApp of your tank, drums or store is often the quickest way to show us.
The five steps at a glance
Call or send the form
Call or WhatsApp 07785 921493, email info@bloils.co.uk, or fill in our quote form.
Tell us what you have
The type of waste, roughly how much, how it’s stored and your postcode. A photo on WhatsApp helps.
We book a collection
We give you a free, no-obligation quote and agree a collection day that suits you.
We collect
We arrive as agreed and collect your waste safely from your tank, drums, IBCs or interceptor.
You get your paperwork
We leave you the waste paperwork, normally a hazardous waste consignment note, for your records.

Step 3: Free quote and booking
We give you a free, no-obligation quote. If you’re happy, we agree a collection day that suits your site. You can book a one-off collection, for example a clear-out or a full tank, or a regular schedule that matches how quickly your oil builds up.
Step 4: Collection day
We arrive on the agreed day and collect your waste. Bulk oil is pumped from your tank, drums or IBCs into our tanker. Oil filters, rags and other waste in containers are loaded separately, and interceptors are emptied by suction.
To help the day go smoothly:
- Make sure the tanker can reach your store, and move vehicles or stock that might be in the way
- Keep lids and bungs on, and keep each waste type in its own container
- Have someone on site who can show us where everything is and sign the paperwork
Step 5: Your paperwork
Waste oil is hazardous waste, so each collection comes with a hazardous waste consignment note. It records what was collected, how much, the waste code and where it’s going. You sign it as the business handing the waste over, and you keep your copy. GOV.UK says you must keep these records for 3 years. See consignment notes explained.
One-off or regular collections?
If oil builds up steadily, for example at a garage, depot or factory, a regular schedule means you don’t have to remember to book, and your store never gets too full. If it’s a one-off, such as clearing out an old tank or a site you’re leaving, just book a single collection. Either way the steps are the same.
Collections from ships work a little differently
For vessels, the booking usually comes through the ship’s agent, and we pump the waste on the quayside. See marine waste oil collection and quayside tanker collection.
We don’t collect cooking oil. For used cooking oil from kitchens and takeaways, please use a specialist cooking oil collector.
